Thanks to the suggestive voice of his cantaora and the unfailingly creative and inspiring interplay between himself and his musicians, Enrike Solinís, who masterminded, produced and directed this wonderful programme, took as his starting point Manuel de Falla’s admiration for authentic cante hondo and the folk music of his native Andalusia to explore the sources and the essence of this poetic tale of love and magic that is cloaked in the heady scent of the bitter orange flower, Gypsy passion and the unique charm of timeless Andalusia.
